Will man ever decide it is better to use military money on space travel and exploration as oppose to war?

I would so SO love to agree. What a great notion....But the thought of man infesting the universe with its greed fuelled deception lies and violence makes me fair shudder. Imagine some poor planet waking up to an infestation of the most greed fuelled creatures in the entire universe, and then suddenly realising to their horror.....OH MY GOD....our brains and are made of gold...ha ha Total wipe out....Man kind hasn't even got the sense to take care of its own environment yet. NO, lets wait for man to actually evolve first shall we.....say another couple of thousand years. How about end war and spend the money on taking care of the planet we actually live on. When we have that right, perhaps it will be a signal that we are ready to take a look at other worlds.
