How do you read Viola Treble Clef?

I'm a beginner for playing the viola so please help me out! how do you read music that's in treble clef? i know that treble clef is used when the composer wants to avoid excessive notes with ledger lines? maybe.. so the notes are supposed to be higher? could you please explain and maybe give an example or two? it would be great if you would use viola notes, string
