Does this mean that he fancies me? Or what? Why did he say this?

Hello there is a guy I talk to and he basically told me more or less that he thinks I like him. I do not like him in that way. I did not confirm anything but I did ask him the same question out of curiousity and he said "just mabey I do". I said I know what that means and then he said no you dont, and not to read it the wrong way. I said I only see it as mabey. I'm glad but the thing is hes my manager at work. I dont know what to make of it but out of morbid curiousity I would like to know what others think. Also I do not need a lecture about how its wrong. Thats beside the point. Thank you for listening.
